Pyramex Glasses: Mirror Lens High Impact Safety Glasses SB6265D
Ice Blue Mirror Lens Safety Protocol Glasses have so much to offer. They have a nifty unisex design, ergonomic frames and flexible PVC nose pads and temple tips.
The lenses are first-class optical polycarbonate with total, unrestricted vision. They protect your eyes from excessive glare and filter out up to 99% of UV-A and UV-B rays. Those are the harmful ultraviolet rays; they can cause damage to collagen fibers and destroy vitamins A and D. (More than you wanted to know dept.: Ultraviolet got the name ultraviolet because they consist of electromagnetic waves with frequencies higher than human eyes can identify as violet. Did you know that polycarbonate lenses are highly transparent to visible light and, believe it or not, they actually transmit light better than some kinds of glass?)
CE EN166 Certified, these sunglasses meet all of the Consultants Europe requirements for standard EN166. That’s big time, you can count on Pyramex sunglasses to be the very best in their field. But wait, there’s more!
Your eyes won’t just be protected from ultraviolet rays. Protocol sunglasses are CE EN166 certified and meet ANSI Z-87.1-2003 high impact requirements. You might be wondering what exactly the high impact requirements are. Here’s what it means. They have to go through some pretty intense testing, but in a nutshell, the end-result of ANSI testing to certify resistance to impact must be that no part of the lens may contact the eye after controlled impact testing. Here’s how they do it:
Test 1: A 1-inch steel ball is dropped on the lens from 50 inches.
Test 2: A ¼ inch steel ball is shot at the lens at 150 feet per second.
Pyramex SB6265D Ice Blue Mirror Lens Safety Protocol Glasses – lots of protection for a little money.
