This is as close to the perfect work jacket as I have found! I bought mine in the Fall of 2005 and wore it all Winter long. I worked outside, mostly at night, and this jacket out-performed my other fleece jackets (North Face, Columbia, and Lowe Alpine) in every way possible. I needed a lightweight jacket that would "breathe" during periods of high activity, yet would also retain warmth while stationary. It kept me comfortable (with proper layering) in cold conditions ranging from light rain to heavy snow and temperatures in the low 50's to well below freezing. Movement (hanging, climbing, signalling) was not constricted, due to the generous cut (I usually wear a Large, but got the Medium and it fits perfect). The longer back was functional, especially with my back to the wind. The numerous pockets also proved very useful . . . there was room for a cell phone, pens, paperwork, small flashlight, gloves, etc., and I used the tool loops to clip a portable radio mic/speaker. Durability was not an issue, as the fleece stood up very well in conditions that have left some other jackets torn, worn, and stained. The only improvements that I would suggest are pit zips and a drawcord waist. Railroad switchman / engineer approved and recommended.

Oh my gosh, this jacket is the best! My husband and I are fighting over who gets to wear it, so he is ordering me one for my birthday. It is so warm, comfortable, and stylish. And the zipper pockets keeps my cell phone safe! Can't wait for my own jacket.

My wife got this for me. I thought she was nuts for spending this kind of money for a fleece jacket. Let me tell you it was worth it. This thing is warm. The people on the site sent me a thing to write a review for it (I wish I got paid for it). So here I am writing the review tell all of you that this logger in BFE thinks this jacket is primo. I also got the Helley long underwear. That stuff is good too.

I have one of these coats. I wore it all through the winter, and I never got cold. I even wore it skiing. (And I'm a terrible skiier, so I'm on the ground a lot!) It is light weight, and very cool.

This Helly Hansen jacket is so great. It's very light weight and durable. It keeps you very warm and keeps the wind from getting to your skin. It really does not seem very warm when you just look at it, but try it on.
