I have owned these boots for 1yr and 5 months, and have had nothing but great luck. In the past I had tried Georgia boots and Caterpillar boots, and I trashed them both in 6 months. I am an electrician and spend a lot of time on my knees (yah yah i know what you all want to say) so the toes really wore out, but with these pair I put some hardening compound on the toes and never had a problem. My feet started to get sore the last couple of months when I stand in front of electrical panels and terminate wires all day, but I think it has a lot to do with standing in one place for 10hrs at a time. The soles have finally started to wear and are almost flat in a few place, the sole started to separated just a little from the actual boot on the right foot. The thing you have to remember is that i am ABSOLUTELY HELL on my shoes, so these boots holding up this long is incredible. I live in South Dakota so I am ALWAYS in either snow or mud and the leather has held up exceptionally well considering the fact that I never once treated them with anything, and that I have been ankle deep in mud on numerous occasions, and shoulder deep in snow, HAHA. I would recommend these boots to anyone who wants a pair of work boots that are tough, comfortable get the job done! If you have a problem wearing out the toes i suggest the hardening compound. and the good thing about red wing is that they offer free laces for life, I have never changed them once on these pair. They do very well on ice and snow, and don't tell OSHA, but they are good insulators from electric shock when working with live electrical wires!! The only complaint i have about them is that where I bought them at the local retail store is that the price with tax was $193.00, but for a guy like me who spends at least 40+ hrs per week on my feet it was well worth it. On a scale of 10 I would rate these a 10, they are great and I would highly recommend them to anyone! Great Job red-wing!

I have owned 2 pairs of these boots. The soles were the first thing to fail on both pairs. I guess that's the price you pay for a soft comfortable sole. They are a good boot and the toung is webbed most of the way up to prevent water or mud from entering the boot. They are a bit heavy too because of the rubbery sole.

Overall, this is a very good boot, but it could be better. I live in Washington, so we have some wet winters and mild to hot summers. I've worn these boots during all seasons. In 80 degree weather working outside, you're feet are going to get a little hot, but no boot that's going to offer you good protection is going to be cool in the hot summer. In the cold of winter these boots do just fine with a heavier sock. Depending on how long you're outside, your toes may get a little cold, but not being an insulated boot it does a pretty good job. Comfort is second to none. I work on a farm and am on my feet 12+ hours a day during harvest. I have absolutely no back or foot pain after wearing these boots all day. These boots aren't advertised as being waterproof, but they do an incredible job of keeping the water out. I've been in puddles/mud almost over the top of these boots. You could tell the leather soaked up some water but my feet were pretty darn dry. Socks were slightly wet, but not wet enough to tell if it was from sweat or actual water getting through. The leather has held up well. The toes have some good cuts/scrapes, but I didn't exactly baby them. So what's the drawback? The sole. All day comfort comes with a price, and in this case it's the sole. I've owned these boots for almost a year and the soles are wearing very fast. Most of my time in these boots are on dirt as well, but I do wear them a good amount of time on concrete. In my year of wearing these boots I've almost worn down the tread in the area under the ball of my foot. Elsewhere, all over the sole, you can tell that chunks of the sole are coming loose. I'm sure the sharp metal grating found on the tractors that I climb on/off has to do with some of this accelerated wear though, so I don't completely fault the boot. Bottom line: I'd recommend these boots, just be sure to take a look at the sole and see if you think it'll work for you. The shallow tread provides enough traction and sheds mud/dirt very well. But again, it is a rather soft material, so keep that in mind.

I work behind a desk all day, so when it came to getting a good fitting boot for fishing, hunting and 4 wheeling, I chose this one. I have not been sorry. They are a great pair of boots.

Had to get used to the kinda tight fitting t op but just loosen the laces a abit and it's fine. Good boot tho. Better than any others I had.

	Being big, it's hard to find things that fit. I prefer American made products like the new balance shoes, and I thank you for offering American Made products. The Riggs jeans, Dickies shirts, and the new balance shoes I ordered today, all fit very well and I'm very pleased. Note, I also ordered a Dickies jacket recently that did not fit around the waist (wasn't even close) and wasn't long enough to reach my belt line. Defect or incorrect size marking, I don't know, but we returned it, and ordered another brand jacket today. Your service and return policy is the best and was very helpful, especially when I tried several types of work boots last year before you found me one that fit. Thanks very much for being there, and please do not go out of business or change anything. You're perfect the way you are!
