First off I work in a warehouse as...
By: Josh M
First off I work in a warehouse as an order selector. Im on my feet 10 - 11 hours a day at work, running, walking & standing. Comfort and durability are major factors to consider in this line of work.

This is probably the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. I've Bought Bates in the past and made my decision on this boot due to the side zipper, very handy.

For a safety toe boot, these are LIGHT ! People at work are always amazed when I have them feel how light they are. Just for a reference, these weigh about as much as my Nike max air ACG running shoes.

Last but not least is product durability. I put boots to the test at work, and this boot passes with flying colors. Right now Im at 13 months of 10 - 11 hour days, and they still are not falling apart.

Over all if you want a light, comfortable, long lasting safety toe boot.... this boot is for you.

Awesome...
By: Steve M.
I bought my first pair of these boots while I was serving in the US Coast Guard and have never purchased a different boot since. I now work as a field geologist 10-12 hrs daily in the field and beat the crap out of these boots. One pair lasts me about two years and they even held up well in salt water.

By: CA Sisco
I first ordered a pair of these boots for my job as an Army Security Guard. I have both the 6 inch and the 8 inch boots. These boots are great here in the summer and winter. I even wore them on our patrol boats and they worked good on wet decks. I was the first officer to buy composite toe boots in 2002. Now almost everyone wears them. We are required to wear safety or steel toe boots on our job. They are also long wearing, I typically get 2 or more years out of a pair.
If you spend a lot of your time on your feet outdoors, these are the boots to wear. They do seem a bit tight in regular with, but the wide width fits my foot great.

Great pair of boots. I initially purchased these boots for my job, which requires toe protection. These boots ended up being comfortable enough for everyday wear, and even became my primary motorcycling boots. Covered a lot of miles in these babies; dirt, snow, salt water, mud, rain... you name it. I got a good two years out of these boots and have just finished ordering a new pair. I don't think I'll ever wear another boot as long as these are around. Good stuff.

I work 12 hr days on my feet and these are the best safety shoes I've ever found after trying about everything there was, including a more expensive brand. I keep ordering these, I can't believe there is anything better. Lightweight.

By: Patrick Wilemon
I am a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic by trade. My job requires that I walk, stand, stoop, and sit. My employer furnishes free safety shoes but for years I couldn't find one that didn't hurt my feet before the day was finished. I decided to purchase my own, rather than work in pain most of the day. I found these on the internet and decided to try them. They really impress me. They are comfortable, lightweight, easy to put on and take off, and they have never hurt my feet. I am on my third pair because my job is rough on boots. However, these boots have been comfortable until the last time I wear them. Would truthafully recommend them to anyone!

By: Mike
I did not like this boot, I had a lot of "Foot slop" in them and the more they broke in the more they felt like I was wearing clown shoes, they run very big. I did not feel like I had very much support in them and they lost traction when I would walk in hydraulic fluid or engine oil. The one good thing I liked about them was that they were as light as wearing tennis shoes, I couldn't really tell they were safety toed boots they are so light.

By: CJ DAVIS
The boot is awesome due to the lightweightness and the protection of the composite steel toe. No one knows I have steel toes on, I don't but the composite toe works just as good. If you are worried about comfort, that is not a problem here. I am a Police Officer and where the heck out of them. The soles are now, after 2 years, are starting to come apart, remember I wear these bootsin the mud, rain, street and outback type areas. Go out and bye them.

Light weight comfort is worth replacing every 2 years....
By: Josh S.
I'm about to purchase my third pair of these boots. I'm an avid motorcycle rider and I work in shipbuilding and I'm not very kind to my footwear. These boots last me about two years before the soles peel off (my only complaint with the boot, or else I'd wear them longer!) Water, mud, dirt, welding, paint, glue, you name it... it's on my boots. They aren't waterproof, but do dry quickly when wet and the mesh lining keeps my feet cool and comfortable all day long. They are lighter than my sneakers and feel great on my feet right out of the box. The side zip feature ensures that the fit is constant no matter what and with the exception of adjusting for sock size during the different seasons I generally only have to lace them up once and never worry about it again. As long as these boots are sold, I'll keep buying them.

Great when you on your feet and need a safety toe....
By: JBMDL
I work as Safety and Health contractor for the Department of Defense and as an EMT.

These are awesome boots.

Durable, lightweight and comfortable when work for long periods. The zippers hold up after repeated use and make getting the boot on and off a snap.

We are required to wear safety or steel toe boots on our job. The composite toe provides the highest level of safety without the weight and cold of a steel toe.

The Bates boots are easy to clean and hold a shine for a while so they look good too.

Great liteweight boots...
By: thunder46350
The only thing that keeps these boots from being 5 out of 5 is the fact that they start to De-laminate after about a year. For the record, I'm really hard on boots, I've had Redwings that only lasted 6 months. The composite safety toes work like they are supposed to. The ankles give great support. I just buy a new pair each year and don't even bother to look for anything else.

believe it or not, back for more...
By: Josh M
Im still grinding the old ax in the warehouse selecting orders (SYSCO) and Im ordering my 5th pair of these Bates boots in 8 years. It would be 7, but I was hit from behind by a 2,000lb pallet jack and it tore the leather from the rubber sole INSTEAD of the tendon from my ankle!

I tried the 6" version of this boot (still wearing it). Its just as great durability wise, slightly lighter, but the 8" just provides more ankle support for the insane workload these guys put on us, imaging jogging with 90lb boxes of meat all night. .

Great boots for what I do! Or for any type of work. Lite an comfortable....
By: george m A.
These have been the best boot for my work that requires steel toes. I work outside in cold and snow and the summer heat and rain. I repair equipment on construction sites an this boot is nice and lite and durable. I have tore other boots up in 6 months. These last a year and they're easy on my back being composite toes. Best shoes for tough work an easy on your body, very comfortable. The only thing is I've broken a lace every once an awhile. They the best buy for me. I tell everybody at my work how good they are.
