These Bates boots have good arch support. They seem to be 'airy' too. By that I mean my feet don't sweat in the boots. I like them a lot.

I like the heigth of these Bates boots. The tan color is cool too. I can be on my feet all day and not feel foot fatigued. The toe gaurd saves a lot of wear and tear too.

I like the easy lacing of the boots. Also the way they're made. Good quality at an affordable price. Bates always has made a good boot in my opinion.

One Of My "Go-To" Pair Of Boots For Years...
By: Mike
I've owned and worn Bates 2250 Desert Warriors and 2261 8" black side zip tactical boots for many years. I always have at least one pair of both in my daily/weekly boot rotation. After they get used quite a bit and rough looking, I move them down to work boots when I replace them with new pairs. Funny as it may seem, as long as you rotate these daily and don't wear the same pair for at least 24 hours...AND use a PEET boot dryer on them every night when you take them off for 4-6 hours....they go smooth on the soles before they fall apart. These boots can take some serious abuse if you do a few simple things to modify them and take care of them in the manner I have just described. Using the PEET boot dryer on them completely dries them out slowly from the inside out without damage. The sole will stay attached and the adhesive used when they are thermally and chemically welded will remain strong and flexible. (No sole coming off!!!) Also I have found that if you start spraying them from the first day with some type of suede and leather protector, the leather still looks sharp for a long time and cleans easily with a suede and nubuck brush as well as being semi waterproof. Another thing I have found over the years is the best insole for these model boots are the Kiwi Gel Boot inserts. (Part #604-015) The tan colored ones with black gel pads. When the factory ones take a pooh...try these. They'll be better than new and more comfortable even yet. These modestly priced boots run head to head with boots that cost 2x-3x more. I know, I've been running them pretty much since they started making them. For some added insurance...the next Cop you see...look at his feet. Twenty bucks says he's wearing 2261s.... Hahaha!!
