Best made boot at ANY price...
By: Jeff Moore
If your looking for a truly well made boot, from exceptional leather, this is the one. This is my second pair. The first is still in great shape after years of wear, but I wanted a backup pair in case they should ever stop making them. I've had $200+ boots that can't compare.

Great boots!...
By: Anonymous
I bought the boot hoping I would get a good slip resistant boot in a kennel setting. I also wanted a light boot for walking and being on my feet for an 8 hr shift.

Love the look of the boot first off. Can be a little hot in the sun.
The sole is very light weight and comfortable but can wear quick.
Does not breath great I think it has to do with the preservative used in the tanning of the leather.

Not a very water resistant boot. Water gets in the welt very quickly.

The sole performs very well in wet surfaces.

I have had them now for almost a month. The sole is starting to wear and getting a little separation in the welt. But to be fair they are walked in for a few miles a day and also in semi wet conditions. Sometimes very wet conditions.

I maintain them regularly and use a shoe tree to dry them out.

Time will tell how they will perform in the long run.

But for now they are a good looking boot that does not tire me out in the end of the day. And the gumlite is pretty good on wet polished cement.

These are my second pair of Chippewa boots.

***FYI check the construction of the boot when you get it. The soles were a tad misshaped which was no big deal but later noticed that the heel counter (the leather piece on the back of the boot) was misaligned which I would of preferred it not to be.

3rd pair...

I'm with the other guys on this. These boots are made so well but they still wear out. Even when they do I come right back to the same pair. These are my favorite yet.

Fantastic quality, runs a little narrow...
By: brianeugne
These are a great boot for the price. I read that they say "handcrafted in USA" instead of "Made in USA" because the parts are made overseas and they're sewn together in the US. Regardless, they are a great boot for the price. In my experience, they run a little long and a little narrow. I sized down a half a size in length and I sized up in width, and they fit perfectly.

Great Boots for the Price...
By: Ambitious_Sloth
I chose these boots over Red Wing Iron Rangers simply because I couldn't afford $230+ dollars for them. These boots are the best for the price point, but aren't for bad weather (which I made a big mistake of). If you need something for work or fashion, get these. If bad weather is a problem, waterproof boots are unparalleled.

Great Boot...
By: Joe S
These are a solid pair of work boot. Not to mention they look great. These Chippewa boots have held up very well over the course of the two years that I have owned them. I will recommend them to any of my friends looking for boots in the future.

Bought these on a fly- No regrets...
By: johnlavery
I've had been eyeballing a pair of these for about a year and I can honestly say they are the best buy I have ever made! They are insanely durable, comfortable, the laces stay tied, except for the tacky USA pin/ whatever that is. I am very hard on comfort because of my flat feet, and these work very well. 1 thing to note is to size down preferably 1/2 size down from your NORMAL shoes. If you wear CDBs you may want to buy that size or go down 1/2. Summary: This is a very good pair of stylish, quality, work boots that have a big bang for your buck!

Nice work boots...
By: IceTr3
These are pretty good work boots. They are comfortable to wear and I'm not worrying about their construction. Another big plus is that they're made in the USA. I also own a pair of Wolverine 1k mile boots, but I don't think these can quite compare to them. This is a great price for this boot, but there's many more very high quality boots. The only big problem is that the better quality boots can be more expensive.

excellent boot...
By: Louie
My 20065 Chippewa UAS made work boots are a great first boot for someone looking to purchase high quality made boot that will last a very long time if well cared for. The leather is thick and really feels like it will hold up for a long time. For the price, you are unlikely to find a pair that meets the quality and style of these Chippewas. They also have a fairly short break-in period, but may be a bit uncomfortable until they have formed to your feet.

Exceptional for the price...
By: crappyusername
I've had these Chippewa Vibram Sole 20065 work boots for about two weeks, and so far I am most definitely loving them. The break in period for me wasn't very long at all, and they are extremely comfortable, very stylish boots. The colour looks a bit darker than what is pictured above, but still very nice looking. The boots are made in the United States which is always a plus, and appear to be very well constructed. They're goodyear welted as well, which is also a pretty big plus. You're going to want to size down a bit, as they run a bit large, however.

Decent pair of boots...
By: dicks1
These Chippewa Vibram sole work boots 20065 are USA made, which is great for me. They will certainly serve their purpose for awhile, but I don't expect them to last. After wearing them regularly for my job as landscaper, they are beginning to show signs of wear. Several of the grommets on the lacing have come loose. Also, the sole is beginning to to separate from the heal slightly. I did not encounter the problem with the soles that some people had. Interested buyers should keep in mind that I tend to VERY hard on my shoes, and even expensive heavy duty work boots tend to fall apart on me within a year. For the price, I would still recommend Chippewa boots to anyone.

Great Boot...
By: momotar0
I like the Chippewa men's vibram sole work boots 20065. I was looking for a boot similar to the LL Bean Katahdin Engineer boot and read online that the Chippewas are essentially the same design and quality for a much lower price. The only downside is the fact that they do not have the cap toe. However, if you're looking for a plain toed boot do consider these, as they are beautiful and okay for cold weather (vibram sole). Grab them, treat with Obenauf LP and I'm telling you that these boots will last forever and look great. Swap out laces if you don't like the waxed ones they come with. I would very much recommend this Chippewa boot to everyone.

Pretty comparable to Wolverine 1000 milers.. awesome boots...
By: JDMFanatic
Just got these boots in and they surprised me for about a third of the price of wolverine 1000 miles. The aesthetics have something left to be desired, but in terms of ruggedness and durability you won't find a better looking boot for the price. I took off the USA Flag and they're freaking awesome! I treat them with boot oil and obenauf's HDLP and they look as new as when I got them. If you want to soak some color into them, you can treat them with some occasional polish but I really think that they're rugged enough that you don't need to give them any color.

Looks good, feels great. Chippewa workboots....
By: QuadK
This Chippewa work boot can easily be worn casually or used and abused for work. Be mindful that this particular model does not have a steel toe nor is it waterproof right out the box. Nevertheless, with some beeswax based waterproofer such as Obenauf's LP or Sno-Seal, you will be able to extend the longevity of this boot significantly. As for comfort, these boots come with a removable insole with some arch support, and they feel great once broken in. Size-wise, they do run a bit large, so I would suggest purchasing either half or a full size down from your regular shoe size. Overall, these Chippewa boots are worth every penny of that price tag for a quality item handcrafted in the USA.

Good...
By: MatthewDC
After I broke these Chippewa work boots # 20065 they felt real good. They're super comfortable and they look great. I've had mine for 3 months now and they still look like the boot in the picture. Also, this leather takes a polish really well, use a small amount of Kiwi black shoe polish to darken the leather to a really dark mahogany brown and they look amazing. These are waterproof too, I got them just in time for the giant snowstorms that hit the east coast and could stand in a 4" puddle of slushy ice water without getting a drop inside the boot. My favorite pair of boots that I own so far.

Great Looking American Made Boots...
By: brianf90
These Chippewa 20065 work boots are tough boots, made to be worked hard. My only complaint is that the finish on each of the boots is slightly different in one part, but I am sure that in due time this will not be noticeable. These boots have some great touches, like the American flag embellishments on the uppers. They are USA made and proud of it. The leather is not too stiff, but even in wearing them only a couple times, they are already started to conform to my foot. I don't like the way the tongue attaches, but its a minor issue.

Chippewa Apaches (The best looking "fashion workboot" at this price range)...
By: 5354
I've only had theseChippewa 20065 work boots a couple of days now but right out of the box they are very comfy with a soft insole already built into the boot (much better than RWs). Although, I have gotten one blister but that is almost to be expected with any pair of real leather boots.

The boot looks very well made and I'm very happy with my purchase. The boots are actually lighter then I originally anticipated and that appears to be because they have "Gumlight Vibram" bottoms which by reading Vibrams website they are drastically lighter but have all the great wear characteristics of real rubber.

I would also like to mention the picture above the boots look a lot darker in color then what is actually delivered. Treat them with Obenauf LP and they get much darker. End the end I'm quite happy with the boots.

Great starter work boots a great price...
By: pownager
Got these as a gift for christmas from my parents. These Chippewa boots are my 1st pair of boots and I am blown away by the quality and the material used. The leather upper is great. It is evident that the sole is durable. These shoes can really last me for years to come. These shoes hold up well in the rain in the snow and in the wild. They are really a great starter pair of boots. Highly recommended for a quality made in USA product. A con is that I think the toe box can be slightly sleeker. But that is just a personal opinion.

Best boot I've owned...
By: rev_rend
Hands down, this is the best pair of work boots I've owned. They're incredibly well constructed, and with a bit of Obenauf's leather protector, very water resistant.

The leather is pretty stiff and have lots of resistance while breaking them in. But once my Chippewa boots were finally broken in, they were great.

The biggest downside is that I ordered a half size too big and they broke in a bit loose. Fine for winter with heavy socks, but maybe a good excuse to get another pair for warmer weather.

Big plus is that my wife loves them and tries to get me to keep them cleaned up to wear out with her.

Amazingly comfortable out of the box...
By: cp298120
I just got my Chippewa men's boots in the mail yesterday and decided to wear them around town as a bit of a test run. These things were impressively comfortable right out of the box and are going to require very little break in to be perfect, as they still hurt my Achilles tendon area like most leather footwear seems to do when I first start wearing it.

I purchased these because my old shoes fell apart and I needed some affordable new ones. I had heard these recommended on some forums I visited and decided to pull the trigger. When I got these boots I was very happy with the looks, they are a very plain and simple looking boot, just like I like it. The only thing that bugs me about them is how the outer leather feels. It feels kind of nappy, almost like a suede leather, but it doesn't really bother me once I put them on.
If someone stole these from me today, I would buy them again.

Made in the USA!!...
By: ghardwick
I know a lot of folks were pretty disappointed when Red Wing started making their boots overseas. These are a great alternative. For those looking for a stylish lite wear boot that is a made in America alternative to the Wolverine 100K or the Red Wing Iron Ranger, these Chippewa Boots are it. The leather is not as great as the Chromexcel used on the more expensive boots, but it looks great and polishing, mink oil, or Obenauf's LP can be used to both protect and improve/change the appearance to your liking. All in all, a great boot for the money.

Excellent Work boot !!!!!...
By: Kevin from Idaho
Besides my Filson boots these are the best work boot I have ever owned. very comfortable and durable. They don't scar like my other leather boots. I work in the freight business and I have had these boots for two years now and they clean up well and still look new. The sole is still in good shape a little slick on aluminum floors of the trailer but I deal with it because they are such a great boot. In the summer I wear shorts so I needed a shorter boot. Worn with a low pair of Smartwool socks and they are plenty cool enough and don't look dorky. Will buy again whenever they wear out. I have paid over $150 for several different types of boots and the molded sole split or just separated from the upper before two years. My last pair was Danners and they were a $170 pair of Chinese junk. A Chippewa fan for life.

Cant go wrong with Chippewa...
By: CuriousApe
After having used these boots for several months I can tell you they were worth it. They are comfortable right out of the box and only get more so after you soften up the leather in the first few weeks of wear.

I can also tell that these Chippewa boots are very well made seeing as they are assembled in america as opposed to so many things that are outsourced these days. I like to keep purchases in first world countries if I can. Supporting the harsh conditions of the overseas worker is not something I enjoy.

High quality, well-fitting boots...
By: Eric
I got a pair of these Chippewa 20065 work boots in the mail from Working Person a few weeks back, and they pretty much haven't left my feet then. The fit is great for me, I didn't have to size down as I've heard others advise people to do. I got some mink oil on them, which darkened the color a little bit, but more importantly treated the leather. It's a good, goodyear welt quality leather. My wife, who was wondering about the frugality of the purchase held them up beside a pair of cheap, cheap Target boots she'd picked up recently, and immediately learned the difference between good boots and department store boots. The soles are quality too. I look forward to wearing these suckers for many years to come.

darn good boots...
By: maxquest
It's really unfortunate that they discontinued this through workingperson. I picked up a pair through a friend's recommendation ( got the lugged sole) and I absolutely love them. Took very little time to break them in (Wearing them for 8-10 hours a day helped a bit) If these shoes were still available I would totally have picked up a second pair just for the future when they eventually wear out. Which I don't see happening for quite a long time!

Really enojying these boots...
By: forrestfars
I've only had my pair for a few weeks but I'm really satisfied with them. I've heard a lot of good things about Chippewa boots and needed a pair of boots for walking through slush in my area. These boots are great for that. I put Obenauf's LP on them and they are very water proof now and look really nice. I will say that you will definitely need to size down at least half a size to a full size. I'd say it's more likely you'll have to go a full size down like I did. I normally wear a 10.5 EE and had to go down to a 9.5EE. The width fit perfectly though, if not slightly more narrow than most.

Great looking durable boots....
By: jjamtmac
I was excited to get the Chippewa Apache boots for such a great price. I'm a huge fan of the fact that these were made in America. I love the American flag lace holder on the shoes. The boots fit a little large so I would recommend getting them .5-1 size bigger depending on whether you'll wear thick socks with them or not.

The best...
By: Skip W.
Chippewas are, in a word, bulletproof. Excellent construction, durability, and comfort. They are not fancy, but they do the job intended. And they do it for years. The best part...they are American made. Be proud, Americans; these work shoes, made by your countrymen, will serve you well into the future. I can't recommend them more highly.

I just bought my second pair...
By: Danny_T
These boots are super comfortable and very durable. I've worn one pair for two years, nearly every day. I have a half-hour walk to work each way, five days a week, on city streets, and have not had to have them resoled yet, though because my heels wear unevenly I did have heel patches made twice (seven dollars each time, from the sidewalk shoe repair guys in Chinatown). Do yourself a favor, get some Obenauf's leather conditioner, and grease them up every so often. They'll get even more comfortable, not to mention more waterproof. I have only two complaints about these shoes. 1) The laces broke within a few days; they seem to be made out of cheap twine covered with greased cotton cloth. I bought replacement laces here at WPS and they worked out fine. 2) Soon after I bought the boots, I was in my stocking feet and I stepped on the toe of one boot, in the dark, in my room. The semi-stiff lining material inside the toe sort of broke, or creased, and I have never been able to get the crease out. It's a tiny bit annoying sometimes, I can feel the crease with my big toe, but it's not enough to give me blisters or anything, or even really impair the comfort. I still wear 'em almost every day, and I am buying a second pair. Nevertheless, one would think a boot should be able to withstand getting stepped on a bit.

Good boot for price...
By: GW
Needed a pair of good work boots for chores around farm. These boots are doing very well so far. Good construction and comfortable. Different feel and support from quality hiking boot that I have been wearing but they are performing well. Seem to be sized slightly different than other boots in that they are a little narrow and slightly longer. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a good light weight work boot.

Very good...
By: Don Richie
very comfortable and nice fit and feel. Using the boots in the woods for walking thru brush and limbs cutting wood and clearing land.I like the sole because it does not collect a lot of Georgia red mud but has good grip.Only had 2 weeks so I do not know yet how they will hold up.

GREAT boots....
By: scoobydubious
These are fantastic boots. There was no "break-in period". They were comfortable right from day one. They are also rather lightweight due to the Vibram sole.
You should buy one size smaller than you normally wear. The boots also run a bit narrow. I usually wear a 10D. I ordered a 9EE and they fit PERFECTLY.
