This Port & Company scarf is very soft, especially for not being an organic material like cotton or cashmere. I have to say, I'm pleased overall. The fabric is not only thick and heavy, but it is very warm and does a good job of keeping the chill off your neck when it's cold or windy outside. The knit is maybe a little loose (especially if you stretch it out at all...it tends to not fully return to its original tightness), but when you wrap it around several times you'd never notice. And there's definitely enough to wrap around - it's very, very long. If you're looking for a scarf at a good price point in an unusual color that makes you stand out in a crowd, and which also happens to be reasonably well made...this is a great choice.
