Hood shields from the wind...

The hood works nicely with the Extreme Arctic Coat. It snaps to the outside of the collar, creating a tight fit that stops any wind from blowing in from the back. It is shaped and sized such that it can fit over a hat or it can worn by itself, using the hood with a hard hat is awkward. The top front of the Carhartt hood extends enough to shield the the face from the rain and snow. The bottom closes under the chin to block the wind and wet weather. The outer material is both waterproof and windproof. I really like this Carhartt hood and I think anyone with a Carhartt coat to go with it should give it a try.
