darker than they appear in the pictures...

The pictures make them seem a little lighter, and a little more blueish than they are in real life. The pair I have was very "black" when I got them. It's a great boot like all of Thorogood's "made in USA" offerings. It's comfortable, durable, well made, and good looking. If you're going to be wearing thick socks like me, I think it fits true to size, but you may like to go down 1/2 size anyway, especially if you're not going to be wearing thick wool socks. I highly recommend this pair of boots.

Well Worth the Price!...

These Thorogood boots came up as a recommendation so I decided to check them out. I read the reviews, looked at all the pictures, etc., and at the end of the day decided to order a pair. Size down 1/2 a size, believe me, and these boots will fit perfectly. I've been wearing them for about a month now and am 100% satisfied. Best pair of footwear that I've EVER owned. I would definitely buy these again, and you cannot beat the price especially for something American-made and incredibly well-crafted.

For work boots, I've always believed that you can't go wrong if you buy a respectable brand that has its footwear made in America. And boy was I right with these Thorogood boots. I'd been wanting a moc toed boot for a while now, and I was incredibly pleased with these boots. A word of warning however, I would recommend that you size down one size from your normal shoe size for these boots as they run a bit large and wide. However, aside from that these boots are beautiful and well made, with top notch materials.

great everyday / work boot for the price...

This will be my second pair of Thorogood Moc toe boots, and I am constantly surprised by the quality of the boot (both the Vibram sole and the leather upper) for the price. My current pair of Thorogood boots have held up very well, with most of the wear happening on the Vibram soles (which after two years still have some tread and provide solid support). Like a few other reviewers have said, they do run a bit large, so it may be worth sizing down a half size. The leather is not extremely stiff, and will stretch over time once the shoes break in.
