Keep It Simple Soldier...
I got this Filson tin cloth game vest because I was looking for something lighter and more stowable than the Redington vest that I had for years. As handy as my old vest was with its fifty-six zippers and eighty-four compartments, sometimes too many pockets just makes you carry around garbage that you don't really need. The two long pockets are just big enough to just hold your essentials: hooks, beads, a small fly box, a pack of smokes. Keep your the tippet holder on your belt loop and you still got your pants and shirt pockets. Anything more than that and you're basically wearing your entire tackle box. Fishing is a leisure sport. When I fish, I like to keep it light and fun, and not carry an assault pack like I was doing a raid on Taliban. If you're the type of guy that likes to keep it simple, don't sleep on this Filson vest.
