cargo pant comparison...
By: Steve
I am a big fan of the Riggs Ranger Pants. I saw a colleague with a pair of these pants on and purchased a pair to try. My first impressions are that they are well made, fit on the slim side, have good pocket distribution as far as placement goes. What I don't like is that the front pockets are not deep enough (not enough room for anything really), the cargo pockets are not bellowed so whatever you put in there takes the room necessary from the leg portion of the pant. So if you put your wallet in there, your pant leg is tightened up by the thickness of the wallet. They need to add bellows to it period. It does have snap closures which is WAY better than velcro!!! Again the slim fit is ok for looks but NOT (IMO) for practical work scenarios. When I kneel in these pants, whoooeee, they snug up. They fit OK standing and look good but just too confining in other postures. I prefer what the Riggs folks call "room to move". I call it "husky" fit. I am not a chubby person but I do like freedom. Other than that, I would go with Riggs for money.
