Shoe-care essential...

I have to wear formal shoes every day for work, and I must say, Kiwi shoe polish does a great job of keeping my shoes looking great, in spite of the punishment they take every day. The polish can dry out a bit over time in its canister, but I have been able to use the same can for over a year now, polishing my shoes every couple of weeks.

When I was your age, we had to shine our combat boots......

Can't get any better than Kiwi polish. Back in the days, before 2005 when we phased out to ACUs with rough out boots, we used to have to shine our black leather boots. So naturally, this brand was a big part of the daily ritual. Kiwi was the de facto industry standard. I don't think there was ever another brand of polish on the shelves at the PX. The word Kiwi was synonymous with "shoe polish." I don't think anyone ever called it shoe polish. Just Kiwi. Of course, there were guys on post that would shine them for a couple of bucks, but every man's gotta know to shine his own shoes, especially if you're a soldier.
