I would not use mink oil on my boots...

Mink oil softens leather, which might be nice for dress shoes or baseball mitts, but is not desirable for workboots. Softening the leather reduces the rigidity and structure of the work boots. Furthermore, it destroys the stitching over time. If you are looking to condition leather boots, buy a boot oil or leather conditioner. If you're looking to waterproof them, go with Obenauf's, Sno-Seal, White's, etc. I would not use this product on work boots.
