wear out quickly, suitable for occasional use...

Ergodyne traction spike was a little harder than most to put on and off, which will make it a little annoying to walk around doing errands, since they are not suitable to be worn indoors. The spikes/cleats wear out pretty quickly as well. Therefore, I would not consider these to be suitable for regular use. However, they're pretty compact, and VERY cheap. They would work great for occasional and/or emergency use.
