The mechanism to attach to your shoes is an upgrade from Ergodyne's lower model and it works a lot better. It's easier to take on and off, and the tension is adjustable. And they still roll up to a relatively small size for carrying in a bag, purse, glove compartment, etc. They grip the ice well and definitely improve your footing. They are a decent product for this price point. With that said, the spikes are not replaceable and wear out relatively quickly. If you live in a city that only gets occasional snow and ice, or is really good about clearing the sidewalks quickly, then this may suit your needs. However, if you intend to use snow traction more than a few times per year, it is probably worth it to upgrade to a product with longer lasting or replaceable spikes.
