Amazing Long lasting all day comfort...

I purchased these boots for a construction project on a mission trip to Haiti. I heeded the size warnings and went smaller, I wear between a 9-9.5 and the 9 fit perfect. The leather is very soft but durable. The boots are very comfortable, to save space in my luggage I wore them on plane trip down. Along with ground transportation to a remote location I had them on for 17 hours straight and my feet felt great. I was so satisfied with the comfort I wore them on the return trip even though I had room in the baggage for the return trip. They worked well on the construction site with lots of rock, sand and concrete surfaces. After getting mortar mix on them I was able to clean them up with soap and water. They're looking a little broken in now, but still great. Speed laces worked great for easy on/off. I have no doubt my next pair of work boots will be Thorogood, I looked at several other leading brands, you can't beat these for quality, comfort and price AND MADE IN THE USA ! 1 thing, the sole wore off quicker than other boots.

More room in toe box than steel toes, great boots! Just remember to size down a half....

Have been wearing the Chippewa Apache boots for the past couple years.. great boots in their own regard, but the toe box is slightly narrow. Have tried other Thorogoods in the past and found their steel toes very similar in fit, so I never made the switch. I could have gotten the wide boots, but then my heel and midfoot would be swimming while my toes were comfy. Saw these boots while browsing a couple weeks ago and comparing pictures, the toes of these boots looked slightly more bulbous than their regular offerings, so I decided to give them a shot. I'm impressed. I work 14 hr days on concrete floors, and usually towards the end my feet are killing me. I've worn these boots for the past week, and my feet are doing great. The sole is great for working on dry, even ground. If you work in frequently muddy sites, a more aggressive tread would likely suit you better. I wear a size 10 in just about everything. Ordered a 9.5 in these and they fit great.

Good full-leather boots...

Finally, a true leather boot with composite toe and shank. There are not many options out there. It seems like most work boots have liners or insulation and I want neither. I would rather not have the soft wedge sole but it works.
I can confirm that these Thorogood boots have little enough metal to pass through the metal detectors at the Prairie Island Nuclear Plant.
The quality is good for a relatively inexpensive USA-made boot. I should have likely gone with a half-size smaller but will keep what I have to ensure a roomy toe-box.
