Best water protection available...
Sno-seal is the best waterproofer available. However, that isn't entirely positive. It seals so well, that my feet get sweatier compared to other waterproofers. I've heard from cobblers that the leather can't breath when sno-sealed and thus breaks down sooner. For anything less than hiking through streams, I recommend Obenauf's. But if you need extreme water protection, go with sno-seal. It doesn't take much to treat one pair of boots, so if you only have two or three pairs, this will be enough for a few years. A great size if you want to test it out!

I work outside on sprinkler systems and my feet typically get very wet, well, they used to anyway. If you keep a good coating of this on your boots, it repels water like a champ. The trick I found was placing my boots in the oven at 200 degrees or so for 10 to 15 minutes to get them warm, use a toothbrush to slather a generous coating, then place back in oven for a few minutes until the excess melts into the leather, repeat once or twice, until the leather won't soak up any more.
Caution--do not overheat oven or the toes can curl up, making boots very tight, and can cause stitching to rip prematurely.
Make sure you have adequate ventilation--this stuff stinks if you leave it in oven too long.
