By: Todd
They are comfortable on my feet. That isn't the problem. The problem is these metal hooks on the side near my ankles. They are for the laces to hook on to. They dig in to my ankles so badly. My second and third day wearing these, I could hardly walk. Every step I took, hurt. I went back to my regular steel toes and luckily nobody noticed I wasn't wearing Metatarsals. After a week I pressed on my ankles and they still hurt. I don't know who designed these but they obviously don't wear them much!

I also work in a machine shop and found these boots very comfortable. The MetGaurd is also good for keeping coolant and other debris from getting in the boot. But it seems that the chips and coolant quickly took there toll on the soles. The upper part of the boot is still in decent shape but the soles are shredded. Amazingly they are still comfortable. I will be trying a different brand of boot next time. I need something that will not wear so quickly.

By: Brad
I have no reservation saying that these boots are the best boots I have ever owned. So much so that I have purchased a 2nd pair. I am not a small guy 5" 11" and 280lbs I am on my feet all day. I purchased my 1st pair when I was working in a powerhouse as a mechanic. Used them in my transition job as a working maintenance supervisor, and finally after 3 years they wore out. I have purchased a 2nd pair and they are working great. There was no breaking them in, I had a pair of $250 Red Wings that took weeks to break in and blistered my heels. The Timberlands were broke in by the end of the 2nd day, dont hesitate to purchase these boots.

These boots are the best, comfortable straight out of the box, even whith no break in period, I have had three or four pair of these particular boots, & will probably where them untill they stop making them. I work in a shipyard so, i,m really hard on them & they hold up.

By: A Whitford
I purchased these boots from here about 6 months ago. They are a very comfortable boot and do not require much break-in. The boot allows you to flex you toes (ie. crouching) and still protects your foot. I would probably not buy this boot again due to the fact that the skin on the met guard rubs off and peals. After 6 months of use the right met guar fell off all together. It came unstitched at the base of it and now just flops around. Nice boot for a while but does not hold up to working conditions. I am a heavy equipment mechanic, therefor those are the conditions they lived in. Hope this helps!

I drive a tractor trailer for a living and have to climb 14 feet in the air and tie down tarps all day, these boots are not only safe but VERY comfortable, I once pulled the hood of the truck down too quickly and got one toe stuck in the hinge, the boot held up, there was only a small indent in the boots leather, could have been much worse! I'll never wear anything else!

My friend from Machine Shop class turned Machine...
By: Michael
My friend from Machine Shop class turned Machine Shop teacher turned me on to these boots and this site. He was right about the comfort after I replaced the insoles. They are really rugged heavy duty boots. They seem scuff resistant. I work daily with long hours as a machinist in a shop. The metal chips used to stick or get stuck in my other steel toed boots. These just seem to leave the chips where they are, on the floor. I have had them 6 months working many a 12 hour shift with no problems. The behind the toe or top of the foot protection looked like a nightmare to put on this boot. It is actually faster than most regular boots. After the 1st fitting then its just a pull and the 2 hooks and its ready to tie. Its done as fast as it took you read this last sentance. When coming out from the rain into a room some boots they are so slick you almost fall down and break something. Not these sure footing always. The only drawback is they seem to run a half size small.I would have sent them back for a larger size but I had already worn them. I missed the fine print about wearing them in cottonland. I figured it would take a few weeks to break them in, but later decided I could have used a half size larger. But they are wearing great I am ready to buy another pair (1/2 size bigger) before they stop selling this product. Like most good things you find whan you want another one it seems to have been discontinued.

I have burned through a dozen different types of boots and decided to try these. I would say this is the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever worn. Great protection and scuff resistant. I work around molten steel and I have yet to burn these up. Great boot!

I've been working in a factory where we do a lot of heavy lifting. First day on our concrete floor and I noticed a huge difference. Great boot to wear, plenty of protection too.
