Very formal...

I was not expecting these Bates boots to be as glossy as they were. I didn't like that, as glossy (not shiny) shoes can be seen as cheap and of low quality by other people. The shoes themselves were very solid and I found no worries for construction quality. I could never wear these shoes as a casual footwear item, as the black is overwhelmingly formal. I think they would work best for military or duty uniform shoes for formal occasions. They are really comfortable and I found no discomfort after a couple hours. They are really easy to keep clean too. All-in-all, great product.
