By: Letter Lady
As a letter carrier with foot problems I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes for work. The shoes offered by our uniform vendors are good, but I tend to be very hard on the soles and need to replace them every 4 months, and gets a bit expensive.
I saw these Ecco shoes and thought I would give them a try. I had been very happy with a pair of short leather boots from this manufacturer and managed to walk all over Vienna this January without complaint.
The Ecco work shoe runs true to size, I haven't experienced any rubbing or pinching while working in them. The leather is buttery soft and there is really no breaking-in period. The sole is supple and the shoe isn't heavy at all. The soles seem to be fairly non-slip and wears extremely well. My only complaint about the shoe is that the insole dosen't have enough support for my foot. I had been wearing Mephisto shoes for work because the "Mobils" insole really offered great arch support and cushioning. The Ecco insole can be removed and I am now using an insole purchased separately from my podiatrist.
I would reccommend this shoe for anyone who is on their feet all day and have been happy with my experience with both the Ecco brand and Working Person's Store.

I thought I was going to have to give up my job, but the gal I work with told me to try these shoes. I have to tell you, after one week in these, my feet felt SO much better, and even my legs were not hurting as much.

I admit, these are not the prettiest shoe you can buy, but if you have any type of foot problems, these are the best you can buy in a store. The support is excellent, and the sole really protects you from uneven ground or hard cement.
