Great boot but one complaint......
By: Jeffrey
I wore these boots for two years. The quality and materials are top notch needless to say. The one complaint that I had with these boots that appeared early on was that the two small straps down along the ankle area are velcro. In a very short time the velcro simply stopped gripping, resulting in those straps just dangling loose. Finally I had to resort to taking them to a boot shop to have snaps installed to keep them closed.

Snaps would be a far better idea for this type of strap in this location. The upper velcro for the main body of the boot worked great, never had a problem with that.

Good boots...
By: Pascal
Hello everyone,
Just received my boots yesterday and can only share with you my first impression about the craftsman of this boots. Good quality over all the leather is thick but soft and won't need breaking time to feel comfortable. Sizing : I wear size 9 in all my boots and had to add a shoe insert on this ones to feel right and cozy. in general the boots look well made and hopefully will last . I don't know about the longevity of the velcro closing system with time. but will find out soon or later. my only down side is the heel hight a bit to much for my test. so a adjustment will have to be made.
I ride a CBR1100XX

By: Arnold
I/ve worn these boots over 2 years. They are the best for riding but walking very far is uncomfortable. My feet tend to slide forward. I wear cowboy boots the rest of the time when I'm not riding. Order your typical size.

The best boot i've owned...
By: Rick
I bought these boots seven years ago and i'm still wearing them today . They are the most comfortable boot and after a long ride so easy to take off. I ride with them in the rain and they keep me dry would recommend oiling or waterproofing them from time to time. The workmanship and quality is EXCELLENT...!!!!!!

By: Jeff S
I've had Chippewa boots before so was not disappointed in the EXCELLENT quality leather inside and out with this boot. They're VERY well made boots. I agree, they do fit tight, so try a size or two wider than normal when ordering.

They're very comfortable and I wear them all the time as my Harley is literally my primary transportation year around here in So Calif.

I give these boots two thumbs up for quality and comfort which is par for the course with Chippewa in my experience.

very nice riding boot. althought i wish the ankle area had a bit more support.riding in New England, this boot has served me well walking or riding and is excellent in the rain, keeping me dry. and quick to dry if they got wet. Nice soft inner. Very strong. and non skid type soul, has proven itself time and time. would definitely buy another hoping to get better ankle support.

By: Cal Chilton
This boot is truly fine craftsmanship and beautiful to behold inside and out. Normally, I'd only expect this quality on a custom made boot.I ordered one full size too large considering the leather lining, which was a good idea!
For the vast majority of you, my problem won't be a concern for you. I, unfortunately, have Large Calves and while the rest of the boot was a Great fit, getting it around my leg was another story. I feel badly about having to return them. I haven't yet figured out what boots I'm going to purchase, but whatever they are, they will be a poor second to these.

By: Caleb
Quality motorcycle boots made in America. Velcro makes them easier to put on and take off. Wide sizes are nice for the broad of foot. After several years of riding, the soles just now need replacing. Good looking too. Dashed to the airport at the last minute and, with a shine, they got me through a business trip!

By: Tom Morrisey
Reasonably priced production boots that fit like a custom-made pair, and the shifter pad is a nice touch. I bought for winter riding in Florida, but have worn them all summer in comfort. I was skeptical at first that the Velcro closures would be durable, but they are still like new long after I burst the zipper on another brand. A great product no matter where they are made; that they are made in the USA is just icing on the cake.

By: Monte
After riding for 30 years I have to say that this is the best boot I have ever owned. High quality leather. Easy on, easy off. True to my size 10.5D Rugged boot that will last for many years. I have been wearing them for 2 years and no problems at all. I recommend wearing wool or alpaca socks. Buy these boots! You will not be disappointed.

Love my moto boots while on the bike!...
By: Vickie
Love my moto boots while on the bike! They are difficult to walk around in --too hard for that. I had to add insole for more arch support. The ease of pulling them on and off with the velcro closure is a dream and makes for a snugger fit thru the top of the boot. Sturdy, well-made, and soft as butta inside. The sole and the heel are very good grip wise I've only slid on slick paint and oil at a toll both but other than that--nice stick. Would absolutely buy another pair. I too would like to see more in the buffalo tho I do believe they make them. --Saw them in buffalo in the army navy store but not my size.

By: meinschaft
Bought a pair of the Chippewa Rally boots two summers ago for motorcycle riding and they are GREAT boots. The fit is what I expected, they are made like 'real' shoes, i.e., stitched, not glued together like the cheap stuff out there. The leather, both inside and out is excellent quality. The soles provide enough grip to keep me from slipping when I put my feet down. After nearly two summers of riding, there is almost no wear. And I'm already thing of buying another pair for when these wear out. I just hope Chippewa keeps making this style.

By: Steve
These boots wear like iron, clean up like new and are so comfortable it's like riding my Harley in slippers. What nobody mentions is the Soft, buttery, leather lining which they've padded from the ankle up. The soles look almost new after wearing them for two years and they don't slip when I stop for a red light. I ONLY WISH they still made these boots in the Bison leather so I could buy another pair in burgundy. Best boots I've EVER owned.

By: Rick
A nice dedicated Motorcycle boot. The are heavy and well made with a slight forward slant that's good for general motocycle riding. Now I'm not all that big on motorcycle boots to start with and would prefer to wear sneakers for everything. I find it a tad tight to squeeze the boots toe in under my shifter compared to my sneakers. That said, the do offer much more protection and a good boot is a wiser choice. They snug-up well but do use velcro to do this so time will tell about it's longevity. The soles seem to be fine with plenty of grip. The heel seems a bit high to me and I can't say that walking is all that comfortable, however, it's kind of like a cowboy boot in that respect. I like my cowboy boots too but they are a bit odd for a sneaker-boy to walk around in too. Do they still make right side shifts(?) as the boots have extra shift leather on the toe, both sides? Maybe for visual balance. They seem to be sized a tad small but I purchased my "normal" size (9)and don't really have an issue other than more than one pair of socks would be too much in general. They do open up almost all the way down on the side so getting them off or on is easy (and without a silly zipper). I could live without the two-tone sole/heel colors but in general it just looks like a motorcycle boot not that there is anything wrong with a steel toed engineers boot.

By: Lowell
Ordered the 11E, and they are to narrow, so reordering the 11EE. I have extreme arch's so I put an insert in all my shoes/boots. Insert compensates for the lose heal as well.

Toe is narrow for an E, and there is a bit of slip in the heal.

Leather quality is outstanding.

Been looking for a boot for the last 6 months, and I prefer this boot to the other so called rally boots (Firstgear, Alpine, etc).

By: Steven
Five yrs. now & they look better now-then-new. These boots are so comfortable I can cut my grass in them. The leather is thick yet soft. The padded, ultra smooth, soft glove leather lining is to die for. These battle ready boots are a breeze to get in and out thanks to the velcro flap and straps. Great long lasting leather/rubber heel, sole, and shifter padding on the toes. Super, light feel on my Harley's foot controls. They take a great polish too. Best bike boots out there period!

By: Larry Ritchey
Great riding boot. Lost my left leg above the knee while riding with a pair of these boots on. Bought me a new pair and back on my bike. Very easy to get off and on my left foot. Had to reduce the heel height to walk good but other than that I wouldn't have any other boot. These should last me the rest of my life since I am 68 yrs old

By: Clay
A first rate boot in all respects. The fit is excellent and true to my 13EE size. The velcro straps/panel make for easy on/off. The shaft is padded and lined with a very soft leather. The shifter pad is a nice feature and has it on both boots.I have no issues with operation of my shifter as well as they are not bulky in the least. I was also very happy with the very short break-in period. One Saturday afternoon shopping with my wife and they are broken in. No blisters or sore feet either. One might consider an insole of some type as they have no padding in the sole. The heel does have some give to it as it has a half inch thick rubber cap. The construction and materials are first class in every way. I think they are an excellent value as well as they are obviously made for a long life of hard use. They look handsome too and don't scream biker wanna-be. I am finding myself wearing them a lot whether or not I am riding.

By: Jay
Excellent quality. Great looks. Keeps feet dry in rain - I live in South FL where it rains everyday. However, like most shoes, this one is made to fit a European foot. I bought EE and it's still tight in the toe box while the instep is a little loose. Of course, this isn't a problem for most people. You'd think that a company named Chippewa would make a shoe to fit a Native American foot but that's not the case. I'll buy the same again.

Buy these boots even if you don't ride!...
By: Rebelyell
I am not a motorcycle rider, yet I bought these Chippewa boots because you can't wear cowboy boots every single day. What's really cool about these boots is how comfortable they are and unique in design. They are fully lined and the construction quality is off the chart, like all Chippewa products. The velcro overlap with the buckles means quick on and off and adjustable for your own sizing. the big advantage is how high up they come and the added protection and support is a great feeling. Once you buy Chippewa, you will buy other styles. Their devotion to quality is admirable.

By: James
I've had these for 7 yrs and have no complaints. They even survived going down at 70+ mph. Only casualty was STRAPS on right boot ground off. Had a local cobbler fabricate new one and worked so well I had him do other. These Chippewa boots are very comfy and built tough. If you want comfort and to protect your feet these are for you

By: NORM WILLIAMS
I have owned these boots 12 years and they are for sure the best boots I have ever owned. The price went up $30.00 since I last bought mine, but still worth the money if you want comfort and durability.

Not for Older People...
By: Joe Martin
I ordered these boots for Xmas 2013. When they got here I could not close up those outside straps. I have arthritis in one hip, and could not close up the boot on that leg. I thought it might only be me, but a co-worker who is 20 years my junior couldn't close them up either. Those closures need to be on the medial side of the boot to be convenient. I sent them back immediately. Cost me about $20 to try them on.
