Good for layering...

I like layering this Fruit of the Loom T shirt under a sweater or sweatshirt and a heavy jacket in the winter or wearing by itself in the fall. The quality isn't great, but it's seven bucks so you aren't exactly breaking the bank. It isn't heavy, but it isn't too lightweight either...sort of a middle-weight shirt. I found that the sleeves are a little short for the body length, but I'm pretty tall so your mileage may vary. I would recommend this as a beater shirt...one that's not too heavy and good for layering.

OK for the price...

This Fruit of the Loom 7930 grey cotton Tshirt is pretty good for what you are paying (only $7!). There aren't too many options when it comes to cheap long sleeve shirts. It works well as an extra layer when it gets cold outside or as something just to wear when doing work around the house when it's too cold for a t-shirt, but when a jacket would be too bulky (or when you wouldn't want to get one dirty).
With that said, it hasn't retained its softeness very well after a couple of washes, which is why only gave 4/5. For the price it's hard to beat, but just be aware that it isn't the perfect offering. I would recommend this shirt as a cheap addition to your wardrobe.
