I am an underground hardrock miner.I switched from rubber to leather boots for the comfort and support.It's wet and hot where I work.I've had a couple of pairs of matterhorns they dont hold up and they are far from being water proof.The Georgia's are very comfortable and they wick the moisture away well, they took about a week to break in and while my feet are damp at the end of the day there issn't a pool of water in the bottom of my boots as with the matterhorns.I've wore these boots for about 8 months now and the soles are starting to seperate even with that they are still waterproof.For the abuse these boots have been through I'm impressed.Even though they're more money then matterhons or rockys they are worth it.I've ordered another pair and when they come in I'm going to get my old ones resoled.
