You may need to go with 1/2 smaller size for a perfect fit....

I agree with others on this site as well as other web sites about this brand being 1/2 size larger than competitive brand boots. I communicated with customer service and they believed Thorogood sizes run true but I found this not to be the case. For me, this boot would fit perfect if I would have selected 1/2 size smaller than my Red Wings. I don't plan to return them because I can make do with a little more room. Also these boots seemed to be sized larger than other brands, possibly because they have no padded liner. I do however, like this boot and find it very comfortable to wear. Furthermore I like the fact they are made in MADE IN THE USA.

Finally wore out...

My first pair of boots have lasted so long that i can not remember when I bought them. I wear them every day and they are by far the lightest most comfortable durable pair of boots I have ever worn. Getting ready to purchase second pair. Just make sure you know your width! Do not guess! These boots will conform to your feet like no other. Keeping my first pair for around the house.

Great Boots from Day One!...

These boots break in fast! I have had these boots for about a year now and they still wear great. The boots need new soles because they have worn down and started to lean. Also these boots seemed to be sized larger than other brands, possibly because they have no padded liner. I had to add a thicker insole to compensate for some weight I lost (feet shrank too). I am looking to buy may second pair, just a size smaller this time. MADE IN THE USA

Awesome quality...

I have a narrow foot so finding the right boots can be tough. When I saw these in a B width and being made in America, I had to get them. The craftsmanship and quality is the best I've seen, in all my years of buying boots. It's also great that is says "Made in USA" right on the boots. They're pretty comfortable right out of the box, but I think after a couple of days they will be broken in completely. They've been around since 1829 so I hope they keep making them so I can keep buying them over the years.

I have worn these boots every work day for the last 10 months. From day 1 they were comfortable and have gotten more so. These are the quality real leather boots that I remember from decades ago. Slightly more expensive than the imports. But worth every penny!!

Excellent boot.I'm on my 2nd pair,wore my first for 3 years after resoling them once.If you've bought the right size you'll never get a blister,even when new they feel broke in.And the best part:They are made in the USA.And with the free shpping offered here and no sales tax you can't beat the price or quality.

I bought these boots for my grandfather and...

I bought these boots for my grandfather and he was so thrilled with them. He is retired now and gardens, raises chickens and a few goats. I feel good knowing he is safer in these boots, he was wearing old penny loafers.

Amazingly crafted American-made boots....

As I enter my 20s, I am expanding my wardrobe to be ore than plain sneakers. I'd been looking into a good pair of boots for a long time. I wanted them to work in tough conditions (rain, snow) and in a regular setting. I found these featured on a blog and was lured in by the Made in America construction and unbeatable price.
3 months in, these boots are working fantastic, I've worn them out in the snow and rain and around downtown L.A. and they work equally well. With consistent care, these'll last a lifetime I'm sure. Be sure to get some thick wool socks to wear with em though!

Solid USA Construction...

This kind of craftsmenship at this price range is outstanding. Full grain leather uppers, goodwear welted soles and Made In America? Honestly, there is no reason not to purchase this boot. It's fairly versatile as well and can be used in casual settings.

Old New Shoes...

My father used to wear these when I was a boy and bought me my first pair when I was 12. It's been quite a while since I wore these last, but they feel exactly the same as they used to! After breaking them in, they are the most comfiest boots I have ever worn. If I ever have to buy another boot, I'd buy Thorogood!

Well, they're not exactly construction-site boots but they're perfect for everything else. They're also pretty good looking, which is always a plus. You might need to half-size down for the perfect fit.

I need to have another pair!...

I loved the look of these boots and needed a replacement pair after some wear and tear. I was planning on getting them here but they are on back order until march so ill leave my impressions of my first pair here instead. They are absolutely comfortable out of the box, not much of a break in period at all required. They hold up well to abuse and look great the entire time. I would recommend these to anybody who wants some durable and stylish boots to get through the work day with.
The only thing I wish was different was perhaps the sole, not quite as much traction as the usual rubber lugs on red wings.

Reliable USA made work boots...

These Thorogood-brand made in America work boots are well constructed and durable. Use a waterproofer such as Obenauf's LP, and you will get many years out of this boot. The welted Vibram wedge sole is not the greatest for traction on surfaces covered with heavy snow or ice, but it still works very well under moderately slick and/or wet conditions. After being broken in, these boots feel very comfortable to wear even if you are on your feet all day. This boot tends to run slightly large, so make sure you try half or even a whole size down from your regular measurements. The pricing of the boot is very fair, and you should get several years of life out of them with regular maintenance and resoling.

I opened the box (red, white & blue, of course) to find that Thorogood had actually sent a pair of custom-fit insoles already inside the boots. What a nice bonus! The insoles happened to be USA-made; another plus. After applying a couple of good coats of mink oil, I laced them up and put my new Thorogood boots on. I was initially impressed with the eyelet hooks. They're really smooth, not likely to wear on the laces too much, but really effective too. Only had them on 15 minutes, but I've never been so impressed. Highly recommended. Totally worth the price.

TheThorogood 814-4355 work boots are great boot. But as you might have read they DO run about a 1/2 size too big. I thought that didn't apply to me, I was wrong. I had to return a pair, and order 1/2 size smaller, which is a pain, because the sooner I can wear them, the sooner I can enjoy them. They are VERY well made. And I really appreciate them being made in the U.S.A. They do need to fix their sizing problem though. I love these boots though great quality and I can see these lasting me years with the proper care that every shoe needs.
