I can also verify that it is dishwasher safe. I have run it through multiple washing cycles without any perceivable adverse effects. This is probably my favorite feature of the cup.
The reason I rated this cup as only a 3 is because it can hold smells inside if you don't wash it out immediately after you are done using it. It also needs to air dry and be stored open so it doesn't build up smells.
