Black boulder leather and 1000 denier nylon combine to create a soft shell. The leather is flame- and cut-resistant, and strong enough to stand up to daily wear and tear. The abrasion-resisting nylon allows air to pass through to skin, keeping feet more sweat-free. Both the leather and the nylon are waterproof.
The Sympatex lining inside is both waterproof and blood borne pathogen compliant to protect you from dangerous pathogens. The comfort weave lining is soft against skin, but it doesn’t create all of the cushioning interior.
Your feet will rest on pillow top footbeds made with memory foam that gently molds to feet. These "motion sensor" footbeds adjust to your steps to provide all-day comfort. They're also removable, because after a day of wear you might need to do some foot odor damage control. A layer of rubber in the midsoles adds more shock-resistance. Engineered composite shanks, non-metal but all-supporting, lift arches to prevent foot strain.
Goodyear storm welt construction attaches the Vibram Sierra lug outsoles to the leather. The series of repairable stitches wrap all the way around the base to create a flexible bond. Integrated midsole cushioning, made with impact-absorbing polyurethane, creates lightweight shock-resistance. The puncture-resistant midsole protects you from nails and other dangers.
