Anyone else out there think, "nah nah nah nah nah...cuz I'm bad to the bone...nah nah nah nah nah" whenever you hear 'Thorogood'? Or is it just us? As it happens, the Thorogood 804-4208 Men's American Heritage Steel Toe Work Boots ARE bad to the bone so the catchy lyric applies.
Just like George, these hard-core Work Boots are American-made. They have a tobacco oil-tanned leather upper making them pliable yet abrasion-resistant. The lining in these work boots is a cotton vamp to give enormous cushioning. The footbed is a removable dual density Ultimate Shock Absorption combined with Poron comfort cushion technology. These components will give you support and spongy shock-absorption to reduce strain and fatigue. The midsole is rubber and the fiberglass shank also provides lightweight, flexible support for added comfort.
The Thorogood 804-4208 Men's American Heritage Steel Toe Work Boots have famous Vibram Rubber soles for excellent traction in all terrain and weather. The non-marking, oil- and slip-resistant soles are made using a Goodyear Welt construction. They have a seal that provides long-lasting wear, but happens to be repairable if necessary. These tough guys have an Electrical Hazard rating that meets CAN/CSA-Z195 18,000 electrical volts shock resistance standards and an ASTM-rated steel toe. These Thorogood American Heritage boots are definitely bad to the bone. Get yourself a pair and you'll be humming that tune all day long.

Customer Reviews For Thorogood Boots: Steel Toe EH Vibram Sole Work Boots 804-4208
I work in the field as a builder, so I wear steel toe boots though I have always had a thing for high-quality,correctly-suited footware for the job: Italian hiking boots, Spanish architecty shoes (Campers), Aussie Blundstone boots--and I wear Fryes harness for casual wear. AND these cost about 1/2 the price of the classic Redwing Irishsetters, too! Thorogood's are my favorite. I wear a 9-1/2 and they fit dead-nuts. These are incredibly light and the cushiony ride offers protection from rocks, staples and nails. Versile: whether packing a Dumpster full of construction refuse or meeting a client, they perform well.
These are extremely well-made--in America--with beautifully soft, rugged leather and a comfortable outsole; I've been beating on my first pair since May 2011. They wear so well I bought a second pair in September to make both pairs last and to a dry pair on my feet everyday. I have still (year and a half) not worn through the leather to the toe steel!!! I have quite sweaty feet, though I can go three days without these getting uncomfortable, if needed.
However, the lateral support isn't always stable (potential rollover), side-to-side, because the outsole is so high (about an 1", but see specs) and drop right off, though the laces cinch tight for ankle support and a good snug fit, and quick-loops rock. Used in attics, on rafters, with no safety problems. Treads are non-skid, non-skid and work beautifully on most surfaces; the classic carpenter's tread pattern makes for little tracking in and out of buildings, though aren't my go-to for muddy, treacherous sitework.
Will definitely have a pair of these in my footware stable for years to come! ALSO, workingpersons.com was very easy to do business with. I would recommend and buy from them again in the future, easy and free returns if they don't fit.
“Well, my order got messed up. They fixed it without me even having to ask for it. I expected to have a problem, but I didn't. Good people and easy to work with.
”Phil from Killeen, TX
