Wolverine Boots: Men's 5300 USA Made 1000 Mile Premium Leather Work Boots
In 1914, Wolverine introduced the 1000 Mile Boot. This footwear set the standard in hard-wearing and heavy-duty footwear. To commemorate this legendary boot, Wolverine has created these Wolverine Men’s 5300 Black 1000 Mile American-Made Work Boots, inspired by the original designs of their work footwear.
The black uppers of these Wolverine boots are made with Horween Chromexcel Leather. Chromexcel is a pull-up material with a classic smooth two-tone finish and is oil-tanned making it super moisture-absorbent. This high-quality leather has been made elusively by the Horween Leather Company in Chicago since the early 1900’s. To make this premium material, 89 separate hand-completed processes are performed over a 28 day period. Now that’s quality! And the leather isn’t the only thing made right here in the USA. These American-made boots are crafted at Wolverine’s Rockford, Michigan factory.
The classic welt construction used in Wolverine’s 1000 Mile Boots is extremely tough and durable. The upper of these men's boots is stitched to the sole along with a piece of leather to create the welt. The outsole is then sewn to the bottom of the welt. This construction is not only sturdy, but also permits air to flow through for ventilation keeping the foot cool. With a life expectancy of 20 plus years, Welt constructed work boots can be repaired and resoled. Adding to the classic styling of this footwear is the stacked leather outsole.
For over 130 years, Wolverine has been making comfortable and durable American-Made boots. These Wolverine Men’s 5300 Black 1000 Mile American-Made Work Boots pay tribute to this time-honored tradition of producing quality footwear by bringing back a classic boot. 100 miles came early...
I do not mind paying 300 plus for a great pair of leather soled boots. I tried these, and they are less durable than the competition. The leather is very comforable out of the box, in fact too comfortable. The soles wear quickly, and the support dimishes. I would rather buy a stiff pair of boots that take awhile to break in, IE Allen Edmonds, Red Wings, and have a boot that holds up longer.

Not tough material....
The boot itself is comfortable, as well as stylish. However the leather is very soft, leaving scrapes tears very easily. I purchased these 8 months ago, been worn less than at least 50 miles, the sole on the right front has developed a hole and the sole is coming off. Not worth the money.
