One thing the dwarves must have liked about the Minimus is its name--it wouldn't intimidate them. But with this tiny name comes big output. The high-efficiency LED bulb provides a brilliant white light, even in total darkness. You can adjust the light output from zero to 100 lumens via the knurled, no-slip, right-hand output control knob. Even little dwarf hands have no trouble adjusting the beam.
This headlamp produces a wide beam of light. Proprietary refractive optics give a beam that's optimized for a human's natural field of view. The build quality is outstanding. The body of the headlamp is aluminum, and the part that touches your head is made of a really durable plastic. The headstrap is also durable and comfortable, and I usually forget that I'm wearing it.
I haven't been in a situation where the light been submerged, but it's nice to know that it's extemely water resistent in case of an emergency.
