Made with 154CM stainless steel to resist corrosion, your blade has a hardness of 58-60 HRC. This means your blade will hold its edge, but won't be impossible to re-sharpen after repeated use. The entire blade is covered in Benchmade's BT2 coating, which offers excellent corrosion-resistance. BT2 exceeds ASTM-117 standards for saltwater protection.
