The bright, hi-visibility yellow catches the eye. And if that doesn't work, 2-inch wide 3M Scotchlite reflective strips (two horizontal on the body, two vertical and four horizontal sleeve stripes) light up even in very low light conditions.
It’s made with 10.25 ounce cotton jersey material that’s been knitted for excellent durability. The material has been PVC-coated to make it fully waterproof. The plastic-like polyvinyl chloride keeps moisture away, so everything inside the jacket will stay dry.
High-frequency welded seams are made so they won’t come apart, not even under the pressure of repeated rain and water. Storm flaps cover the zipper and button closures, so there won’t be any chinks in the tough, waterproof shell.
But rain isn’t the only danger you might face. This rain jacket is also flame-resistant, and rated for ASTM F1891 and ANSI/ISEA 107-2010 class 3 protection. It’s got an Arc rating of ATPV = 18.5 cal/cm and it’s been approved by the NFPA, National Fire Protection Agency, for Hazard Risk Category 2. All that science, basically, means that this jacket is safe even around flame, and won’t catch fire or melt when you’re in danger.
Raglan sleeves, joined to the jacket at the shoulder, give your arms a full range of motion. Speaking of moving room, the back is made with a vent with D-ring access.
