This midnight blue (looks black), long-sleeved shirt has been constructed with flame-resistant Nomex thread. The tough thread adds strength to the 6.5 ounce modacrylic cotton interlock fabric. The synthetic cotton has all the softness and breathability of natural cotton material, with the toughness and abrasion-resistance of synthetic material.
This shirt may look pretty unassuming, but it’s very tough. It meets ASTM F1506 safety standards, and has an Arc Rating of ATPV = 9.8 cal/cm2. It sounds confusing, but the rating measures how much heat this shirt can take without melting and burning against your skin. Since it meets National Fire Protection Agency 70E Hazard Risk Category 2, you’re going to be safe from all those stray sparks.
