An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) hat can't possibly tell you the whole story. Sure, you see someone rushing the someone's aid wearing a black EMT hat, but there is more to that person than that black cap with EMT emblazoned across the front.
An EMT, or ambulance technician, responds to emergency calls and are trained to quickly assess the condition of a patient and perform necessary emergency procedures. We won't get into the procedures here (this is a site dedicated to workwear... and we get queesy at just the thought of blood).
Please, whatever you do, don't call an EMT an ambulance orderly, ambulance attendant or ambulanceman. Not cool. Look for the black cap with a big, white EMT across the front and a Velcro closure in the back and stay out of their way when they rush to someone's aid and, please, put away the camera phone.
