The Filson Tan 10010 TN Tin Cloth Packer Hood is designed to button right onto the collar Filson's Tin Cloth Packer Coat or Double Logger Coat. No matter what you wear it with, this hood is warm and snug and always tough against the elements.
This hood is made with Filson's 12.5 ounce tin cloth fabric. It's not real tin, but the cloth was so named because of its exceptional durability. This hood is actually 100% cotton that's been soaked in paraffin wax. The wax softens with time, but continues to provide tough water-repellency. Just brush dirt and debris off the hood to clean it.
The drawstring allows you to pull the hood around your face to block out the cold. The two snaps in front rest on a collar that provides neck protection, but the hood itself is roomy enough to be worn over a cap if you like. The cut away sides provide a wide range of vision.
No tin was used in the making of the Filson Tan 10010 TN Tin Cloth Packer Hood, but it’s still so tough it’s strength been compared to metal. To us, that sounds like pretty good head protection.
