Customer Reviews For Carhartt Buttons: Brass Extra Buttons A135 BRS
The instructions say to just hammer them in to the fabric, however in my experience it is better to make a small hole beforehand, preferably with an actual punch that removes a tiny bit of the material from the hole. That will make the installation a lot cleaner and easier to do.
Also be sure to make the hammer hit directly straight on. The tack will bend quite a bit otherwise which will render the button pretty much useless.
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would buy more again. I'd suggest doing a practice run with your first one, just to be sure you don't punch ugly holes in your pants! After that you should be golden.
