The fabric (the shade is actually billed as "oatmeal") is comprised of two distinct layers of material. The outer layer is made with 65% ring-spun cotton, combed for added softness, 25% Merino wool and 10% nylon. The inner layer of fabric is made with 100% combed, ring-spun cotton.
Ring-spun cotton is much stronger than ordinary cotton, made to withstand machine washing. The ring-spun process makes the fabric softer and stronger with every machine washing, in fact. Merino wool adds softness and insulating warmth to the mix, while nylon provides abrasion-resisting stretch. The unique, two-layer fabric design actually creates a third layer of warm, insulating air that gets trapped inside. The warm air keeps providing comfort to keep you feeling cozy even in the worst of winter's cold. This garment is designed to take on even extremely cold temperatures.
The rib-knit cuffs create stretchy strength around each wrist, further working to seal out cold air. Even the tail has been extended to provide coverage when you're bending, stretching and sitting.
