The soles have two oil-resistant areas: the bumper guard and the "Crepe Wedge" outsole. Oils can break down the materials that soles are made of, so "oil resistant" means your soles will last longer. The soles also have a steel shank, which provides a stable work platform and ensures that the shoe breaks properly and comfortably when you take a step.
