Good, but be careful!...
By: astepbehind
These buttons are top quality first of all. They don't feel cheap at all and definitely feel sturdy if that makes sense.

The instructions say to just hammer them in to the fabric, however in my experience it is better to make a small hole beforehand, preferably with an actual punch that removes a tiny bit of the material from the hole. That will make the installation a lot cleaner and easier to do.

Also be sure to make the hammer hit directly straight on. The tack will bend quite a bit otherwise which will render the button pretty much useless.

Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would buy more again. I'd suggest doing a practice run with your first one, just to be sure you don't punch ugly holes in your pants! After that you should be golden.

Quality buttons but you need to take care installing them....
By: davo
I bought these Carhartt buttons to replace some suspender buttons that had come off and having never installed any I didn't realize how crucial it is to 'set' or 'seat' the 2 pieces properly as the previous reviewer described. After a few un-accurate hammer strikes I finally figured out the key for a perfect 'set'.

They will work...
By: traciekali
These are the Carhartt buttons that the suspenders attach to. I live the suspenders, but felt like the $3 for the extra buttons were maybe a little spendy. I'm a person who sews, and I know that similar buttons should cost half that. Plus, after just two weeks of wearing one button broke off. I will say it's nice that they give you right and the suspenders only need 6. I'm on the fence about recommending them to anyone.

good to have extras around...
By: rstevens
In the unlikely change that a brass button will fail you it's good to have spares around. These are easy to switch out if need be and look perfect since they are matching pieces. I wouldn't order them separately but toss them on an order and save on shipping and put them in the junk drawer. Can't beat the price.

a must have...
By: azcbpk9
I honeslty have never considered buying these, but the wife thinks they are a must to have around in case of an emergency. We haven't ever had to replace a button yet, but when the time comes I know we will be prepared and it will match and be top quality.

Solid Quality...
By: PartTimeLogger
These are solid quality brass buttons. They are fairly easy to install once you figure out the best method and do 1 or 2. The only caveat for these, which I didn't think about before, is that ONCE YOU PUT THEM ON-THEY'RE ON FOR GOOD! And once they're on, you can't ever wear those pants with a belt, because the buttons will be sticking in your sides when you tighten your belt. Know that before you install them and you'll be fine!

Bachelor buttons...
By: De-Bo
My mom called these bachelor buttons as this is what the unmarried and could not sew men would use to put on there trousers back in the day as they are fairly easy to do when you get them in the right place. These Carhartt buttons should do the trick on my jeans that need upgrading to suspenders as they are superior to a belt.

no button, flat hook style carhartt bib repair overalls...
By: Robert Bowers
You do not show the non- button style of Bib overalls you made in late 90'a. These are 100% " flat clip fasteners " that twist fastens from strap end into a metal slot on the bibs.
Mine got caught and broken off in dryer.
Where can I find a new set of Bob fastness for my overalls? " again", these are "NOT BUTTON STYLE " fasteners.
