When something is ironclad, it's protected with the strength of iron. These ~Rocky 5698 Brown 9-Inch IronClad Waterproof Men's Boots actually aren't made with iron, but if any pair of work boots could be as tough as a pair of iron boots (which we don't recommend for wearing), it would be this pair.

These Rocky boots are built on top of a 7-layer IronClad system. That means you have layer upon layer of comfort to protect you from the hard ground below. The uppers of these waterproof boots only need one layer to keep you comfortable: full-grain leather. It's the good stuff. Full-grain is naturally resistant to water and flexible even in cold weather. Triple-stitching in the uppers gives your steps the strength of three threads, not just one, with every single stitch.

The lace-to-toe pattern of these Rocky IronClad boots goes all the way up the 9-Inch design to give you customizable comfort. Full-grain is such good stuff you don’t really need anything else, but Rocky’s given you more anyway. These brown boots are built with guaranteed Rocky waterproof construction to keep you dry even in miserable weather. And to guarantee that you really won’t be miserable, the inner lining actually wicks moisture away from skin. That means it draws sweat away from feet, so it won’t just hang around. The soft lining of these Rocky moisture-wicking boots won’t chafe, even when skin rubs up against it.

The IronClad system includes Air-Port footbeds. This time, the name is literal. The footbeds of these Rocky boots are designed to circulate air with each step you take, even as it compresses to cushion you against the impact of each step. A flexible insole board supports a layer of soft foam to create a comfortable design.

Full-length cushioning in the midsoles, made from airy EVA foam, adds even more softness to the design of these Rocky waterproof boots. Tempered, ribbed steel shanks give your feet arch support and lateral stability for steadier, less strained steps. EVA pads in the forefront and rear foot areas give your feet shock-absorbing comfort.

It all leads to the dual-density IronClad outsole, made with two layers of support. The outsoles of these Rocky IronClad boots give your steps traction and comfort with every step. They’re attached with repairable Goodyear storm welt construction. The stitched construction is put together with waxed thread that resists moisture and even chemicals.
