This revolutionary Tri-Hazard® protection is liquid-proof while offering arc flash and flash fire safety. The Thermo-Grid® technology works hard to block out heat energy, and the flame-resistant PVC coating on Nomex® is what gives the 100% liquid-proof protection. (Nomex® is a registered trademark for flame-resistant meta-aramid material.) The FR Tingley hood conforms to ASTM F1891 for Arc Thermal Performance and NFPA 70E, Arc rating 14 cal/cm², and ASTM 2733 for Flash Fire Performance. The ASTM F2733 specifications indicate the minimum performance criteria for flame resistance, as well as other requirements for rainwear when a worker might also be simultaneously exposed to wet weather conditions plus hydrocarbon or petrochemical industrial fires. The ASTM 1891 standard sets applicable test methods with minimal physical and thermal performance criteria. This involves exposure to thermal hazards of momentary electric arcs and open flames.

This Eclipse flame-resistant hood is chemical-resistant to many acids, oils, alcohols, salts, and alkalies, too. The soft, lightweight design is ideal for petrochemical, chemical, off-shore drilling, and any applications where flash fire safety is a must. The average predicted total burn area is < 11.4%, and the exterior PVC coating is in place to make sure you have dependable chemical resistance. All-day comfort comes from the soft, supple feel of the Tingley garment, and there are non-conductive, non-corrosive snaps for easy attachment.
